Synthesis report on the 2002 reports of the Scientific Assessment Panel (IEG)

Synthesis report The synthesis report presented in the present document on the contributions of the assessment reports has been prepared by the co-chairs of the assessment panels in accordance with Article 6 of the Montreal Protocol on the basis of their reports entitled "Scientific assessment of ozone depletion: 2002", "Environmental effects of ozone depletion: assessment as of 2002" and "Assessment report of the Technology and Economic Assessment Panel in 2002".The full evaluation reports can be found at: https://www.unep.org/ozone or https://www.unep.ch/ozone

The present report contains a summary of the findings of the panels on scientific assessment, environmental impact assessment and technology and economic assessment submitted pursuant to decision XI/17 of the Eleventh Meeting of the Parties to the Montreal Protocol held in 1999. It is the fifth in a series in which previous reports were issued in 1989, 1991, 1994 and 1998. Like past reports, it provides a basis for Parties to assess, in accordance with article 6 of the Protocol, the adequacy of the Protocol's control measures and for taking appropriate decisions.
