Round timber and lumber treatment

Disinsection of round timber and lumber may be performed in a special fumigation chamber, as well as in ship holds. Agents based on bromomethane and phospine are used for this kind of fumigation.

Gas treatment allows fumigating timber and lumber materials without their unloading, which decreases the cost of this operation compared to treatment with liquid agents. Gaseous fumigants are able to penetrate deeply into the wood, which sets them apart from other agents for round timber and lumber.
