Disinsection with contact insecticides
Grain, that has been long stored in silo, needs extra protection, which means its conservation with the use of insecticide treatment. Treatment is carried out by spraying insecticides onto the grain at a transportation line during its loading into a storage tank. Insecticide spreads evenly in a natural way, mixing during loading. Humidity of the grain rises slightly, as the consumption rate of a liquid insecticide is minimal, which is about 1 liter per ton of grain, which makes aeration upon completion of the procedure unnecessary.
There are also methods of layer-by-layer treatment, when small batches of grain are poured out layer by layer, and each layer undergoes manual treatment by spraying.
In summer period the equipment, used for grain transportation and storing, is subject to regular insecticide treatment.
Usually, effectiveness of such treatment reaches 90-95%, judging by the amount of alive and dead pests in grain samples.
Conservation treatment of grain and its derivatives provides its safe storing without deterioration in its quality.
