Guidelines for non-compliance and emergency action notifications. International Standard for Phytosanitary Measures

The International Plant Protection Convention (IPPC, 1997) provides contracting parties with serious cases of non-compliance of imported goods with phytosanitary requirements, including those relating to documentation, or reporting on an appropriate emergency action taken when an organism posing a potential phytosanitary threat is detected in the imported cargo. The importing Contracting Party shall notify the exporting Contracting Party as soon as possible of serious cases of non-conformity and emergency action taken in respect of the imported goods. This notification shall determine the nature of the non-conformity in such a way that the exporting Contracting Party can examine it and make the necessary adjustments. Importing Contracting Parties may request a report on the results of such studies.
