Memorandum of Cooperation between the Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance (Russian Federation) and the Plant Protection Organization of the Islamic Republic of Iran

Memorandum of Cooperation on the Export of Timber from the Russian Federation to the Territory of the Islamic Republic of Iran The Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance (Russian Federation) and the Plant Protection Organization of the Islamic Republic of Iran and, hereinafter referred to as the Parties, guided by the intention to develop bilateral cooperation in the field of plant quarantine in accordance with the provisions of the International Plant Protection Convention (IPPC), As amended in 1997), the International Standards on Phytosanitary Measures and this Memorandum, have agreed as follows:

1. The Russian side will comply with international and Iranian phytosanitary requirements when supplying timber to the territory of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
2. Timber exported from the Russian Federation to the Islamic Republic of Iran must be accompanied by a phytosanitary certificate issued in accordance with the rules of plant quarantine of the Islamic Republic of Iran, according to the model established by international standards for phytosanitary measures ISPF No. 7 and No. 12. The validity of the phytosanit of the gar certificate is 45 days from the date of its issuance.
3. The Russian Side issues a phytosanitary certificate in two languages - Russian and English, while a copy of the phytosanitary certificate is sent to the Plant Protection Organization of the Islamic Republic of Iran at the following e-mail addresses: Fotouhi@ppo.ir, yaseini@ppo.ir, shavan@ppo.ir.

The Russian side provides the Iranian side with access to the automated software complex "Phytonadzor" for the issuance and accounting of all phytosanitary documentation.
