Signs of Pesticide Poisoning and First Aid Measures

Signs of poisoning of people with drugs used to protect plants are not the same and depend on the class of chemicals. Let us characterize the clinical picture of poisoning with certain types of chemical compounds.

More than 20 years ago, organophosphorus compounds (FOS) were the main means of protecting plants and animals from insects and ticks, less often they were used as herbicides and defoliants. Belonging mainly to the first and second hazard classes, these compounds were the cause of severe poisoning if safety rules were not followed when working with them or when they were used in conjunction with food. Currently, they are used on a smaller scale compared, for example, with synthetic pyrethroids, although they have not lost their practical significance.
